Swatting at dirty winged desire … perpetual bondage to Saṃsāra.
The flames of wisdom lick the wounds of ignorance clean to the bone.

No Flies On Me explores Saṃsāra, chasing the phantoms of our own desire and the fickle and at times mundane repetitive existence and plight of our particular sentient species.
As seen through the eyes of our barfly (lead actor) on a night out at his local pub, after a few too many drinks he is cerebrally drawn on a journey into the microcosmic wilder hedonistic parallel barfly world taking place right under his nose.
The candle light is symbolic of insight and the guiding inspirational discriminating power of ‘source’ awareness. The guiding light of wisdom is ever present yet the allure of the shadowy and wild dance of ‘blissful ignorance’ obscure his cognitive ability to reconnect.
The film is a satirical look at modern pop-culture and more sub-cultural fringe lifestyles from secular to the more extreme OTT cliquey forms and their esoteric vs exoteric values with tongue (or should I say proboscis? 😉 firmly in cheek!

Challenging media complacency and the ‘blanding’ out of culture (and ‘cancel culture’ toxicity at the more polar end of the spectrum), the film explores big-cheese-corporate-media backed manipulation, monopoly and collective (from fringe to society at large) control and the relentless associated ‘brain feed’ of new and age old dogma forming a digital era gridlock to the collective neural networks of bland formulaic franchise media and entertainment output.

With tongue firmly in cheek the film uses metaphor including a ‘birthing sequence via ear canal’ to showcase what is seen as a toxic codependent relationship and the choice to free our minds from this toxic engineered algorithmic stream of doldrum via a means of inner alchemy proactively reshaping the effects on us in a mindful way opening the doors to new insight once again.

Based on a concept initially developed by Lars developed in 2008 adapted to suit our current 2021 socio-political climate and designed to work as a stand-alone ‘super-short’ film and as a sequence vignette for an upcoming feature film currently in production.
